The Afghan Hound Project is a group of concerned fanciers alarmed at the population decline of Afghan Hounds in the US and Canada.  Only 204 puppies were registered with the American Kennel Club in 2024–the same as during the 1940s when the human population was less than half that of today.

The purpose of this organization is to encourage and mentor new breeders. We are offering Scholarships of 1000USD to new Afghan Hound breeders with eligible litters:
     AKC or CKC Registered
     OFA Certified Hips (Dam)
     OFA Certified Eyes (Dam)
     Thyroid Certified (Dam)
     First Afghan Hound litter of Applicant
     Ineligible: parent-offspring mating, full sibling mating
