The Afghan Hound Project is a group of concerned fanciers alarmed at the population decline of Afghan Hounds in the US and Canada.  In 2024 only 55 litters were registered with the American Kennel Club and 7 litters were registered with the Canadian Kennel Club.

The purpose of this organization is to encourage and mentor new breeders. We are offering Scholarships of $1000 to new Afghan Hound breeders with eligible litters:
     AKC or CKC Registered
     OFA Certified Hips (Dam)
     OFA Certified Eyes (Dam)
     Thyroid Certified (Dam)
     First Afghan Hound litter of Applicant
     Ineligible: parent-offspring mating, full sibling mating
